Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva is ‘only realistic’ for Borussia Mönchengladbach if their current striking options become thinner in the coming weeks.

That’s according to Gladbach Live, who cover the developing rumour about the Wolves man today and explain how a move to Borussia Mönchengladbach is unlikely.

They explain that Wolves seem to be intrinsically linked to the German side in the transfer window, with Hwang Hee-chan and Boubacar Traore linked with moves to Mönchengladbach, and Nico Elvedi heavily linked with Wolves throughout the summer as well.

Those transfers never happened but it hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from linking them again and this time it is suggestions in England that Fabio Silva could be on his way to the Bundesliga.

Reports in England had linked the forward, who is barely featuring under Gary O’Neil, with a move to Germany in January and claimed at least three clubs, including Mönchengladbach, are looking at him.

Gladbach say that is unlikely, though, as despite the fact the German side have been short up front of late, manager Gerard Seone basically ruled out transfers quite recently.

He instead pointed out that his current options should be available after the German winter break and so the club are ‘actually well prepared’ in terms of quality and quantity.

Thus, a deal for the Wolves striker ‘only seems realistic’ in the injury problems at the club were to worsen again in the six weeks until the end of the January transfer window.

In other words, they’re not looking at Silva in any way shape or form for now and this rumour can very much be put on the back burner for the time being.
