Following a season full of new talents emerging in Portugal, it’s inevitable that several players are now linked to Premier League clubs, like we see every year. And with Wolverhampton Wanderers becoming specialists in that market, they’re once again pointed out as potential destinations for a few targets.

That recently happened to Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio, who stood out for the Lions this summer and is now said to be watched by a couple of English sides.

So following the stories which linked him to a Wolves move, we now get to see newspaper Correio da Manhã showing up to dismiss the news.

The outlet points out stories from the English press claiming the Molineux side are one of the clubs interested in Inácio. Then they say they know this is ‘not true’.

Sporting are aware that the defender is followed by clubs this summer and will not negotiate his sale. They’re only letting him leave if a club shows up and triggers his €45m release clause.

So far, nobody has come close to doing so.

Should Wolves become interested in this signing, as other Premier League sides already aware, that’s the price tag they’d need to meet to land him.
