Wolves and Fiorentina are in something of a transfer triangle ahead of the winter transfer window. Patrick Cutrone is on loan at the Serie A club, but it’s thought he’ll be leaving in the January market.
That leaves Wolves and the player’s representatives to find a new destination for the former AC Milan striker, with it likely he’ll end up at another Italian club.
Fiorentina then want to replace him and one of their options is Liverpool’s Divock Origi. The Belgium international has a grand total of seven Premier League minutes so far this season, with a further 311 in other competitions.
Fiorentina is an option, however, Monday’s edition of La Repubblica reports Wolves are ‘already pressing’ to sign Origi in the January window. There’s a good chance the club have open connections with Liverpool following the summer transfer of Diogo Jota, and it’s reported the Reds are ‘considering’ a sale when the window opens.
This would make it harder for Fiorentina, who would struggle to match whatever Wolves offer.
