It’s not the most exciting day of the past decade for Chelsea fans when it comes to transfers. As the English media talk up Andy Carroll’s potential transfer from West Ham this month, the Spanish media turn their attention to Eden Hazard again.
Something needs to happen at Real Madrid given their terrible season so far, and Marca report the club are currently ‘casting’ for a new forward.
There are several options, with Neymar being at the top of the list, and Robert Lewandowski another candidate. Hazard is in there too, and it’s explained signing the Chelsea player would have the backing of manager Zinedine Zidane, if of course he’s still at the club in the summer.
There’s been ‘continuous winks’ on the potential transfer, say Marca, and Hazard ‘meets all the requirements’ Real Madrid currently have.
Chelsea’s Belgium international is ‘one of the few stars that is accessible’, meaning the Spanish newspaper believe it’ll be easier to get Hazard than other options.
Harry Kane, Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala also get mentions, but it’s Neymar, Hazard and Lewandowski who are considered likelier right now.
Andy Carroll doesn’t get a mention.
