Nottingham Forest are now labelled as a ‘likely destination’ for Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos.

ZeroZero feature a story confirming that the Reds placed a €9m bid to make the signing.

That offer wasn’t good enough to convince Benfica, but the talks are set to continue, and there’s the ‘sensation’ that there’ll be ‘white smoke’ and the player will head to Nottingham Forest.

The Tricky Trees have a large advantage in this negotiation, which is Vlachodimos’ current situation at Benfica. The goalkeeper had a disagreement with manager Roger Schmidt earlier this month, and ZeroZero writes that the relationship between player and club has ‘come to an end’.

It’s said there’s ‘no doubts’ that the Greek should leave the Eagles in the last days of the window, and Nottingham Forest is as a great way out for all parties involved.

The Reds are said to be in ‘pole position’ to get the signing done and just need to sort the numbers with Benfica to get a deal.

Both the Eagles and Vlachodimos see the transfer with ‘good eyes’, so they just wait for Nottingham Forest to raise the bid a little.
