Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã isn’t afraid of going against Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho.
Last week, they already had a story saying William Carvalho was refusing to train because of the way the president was handling negotiations with West Ham United.
And on Tuesday, they now claim it’s West Ham who are upset with Bruno as he continues changing the demands after each bid made by the Hammers.
The first offer was €30m, something that had been reported by the Portuguese press as enough to take the player. But Sporting then demanded €35m.
And when West Ham matched this counter-offer, the Portuguese side asked for €38m.
Newspaper Jornal de Notícias describes the negotiations as a ‘patience game’.
They say the agent commissions and payment methods are other issues holding up the deal.
But both sources claim the agreement with the player is total.
He’s keen on making the move to West Ham and has a five-year contract waiting for him.
Now it’s down to Bruno de Carvalho, and whether West Ham have the patience to navigate his ego.
