Money could apparently be a very good argument for West Brom to land Benfica midfielder André Horta on a loan deal.

On Tuesday, Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports the player’s permanence in the Eagles’ squad for the season is still not guaranteed, as there’s too much competition in midfield.

West Brom are still the strongest name in the race, but Benfica’s wish to keep Horta in Portugal has been playing against the Baggies. The Lisbon side thinks Horta will have more minutes in the local league, and it would also be easier to follow him closely.

However, from the player’s point of view, a move to England would have more advantages. A Bola says the Premier League scenario would ‘favour him financially’.

As loan sides normally pay for part or the entire salary the player earns at the clubs who owns him, we could only imagine that West Brom would offer a signing bonus or performance bonuses in case he makes the move.
