Salis Abdul Samed arrived at Sunderland on a loan deal from RC Lens on summer transfer deadline day.
He was a regular for the French club last season, making 35 appearances of which six were in the Champions League. Lens manager Will Still didn’t count on the defensive midfielder this season, and that convinced him to join the Black Cats.
Salis Abdul Samed’s decision to join Sunderland hasn’t worked out well so far. The 23-year-old hasn’t made an appearance this season and to make things worse, Régis Le Bris didn’t even include him in a matchday squad.
According to Allez Lens, the Ghanian doesn’t seem to be part of Régis Le Bris’ plans at the Stadium of Light.
His situation at Sunderland won’t please the Ligue 1 side. The player’s contract at Lens lasts until 2028 and they may have to make a decision soon.
The sources suggests Lens could cut short Salis Abdul Samed’s temporary stay at the Championship side in January. If this were to happen, Lens could try and place him at another club in the same window.
