West Ham United have started discussions with French side Brest for youngster Bradley Locko, in a deal that would see him arrive at the London Stadium in the summer.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the Hammers are happy to buy now and loan the player back to the French side.

They report that Locko has been impressing for Brest since arriving a year ago from Reims, quickly establishing himself with the club and becoming an undisputed starter under Éric Roy.

He was quickly linked with a move to Marseille but that seems to have evaporated and it is instead West Ham who have ‘appeared’ on the scene.

Discussions between the Hammers and Brest have already started, and West Ham’s idea is to sign the player in the January transfer window, leave him at Brest for the remainder of the season and then bring him to London in the summer.

The outlet makes no mention of a price for the 21-year-old, although the likes of Transfermarkt have him valued at €7m.

Such a figure would be easily reachable for West Ham if that’s what Brest are looking for. For now, talks are simply underway between the two sides over a potential deal.
