It appears that there are some in Belgium who truly believe that West Ham United could make a move for Hans Vanaken in January.

The Hammers have long been linked with the Club Brugge star, who has consistently been one of the best players in his country without ever leaving it.

Many feel he should try his hand elsewhere at least once before the end of his career, and at 29 years of age, this could be the time for it.

With eight goals and five assists in 25 games this season, he would provide more creativity and goals for West Ham, who have surpassed all expectations to date both domestically and in European competitions under David Moyes.

Voetbal24, who recently said the move was ‘no longer out of the question’, pursue that idea on Monday some more.

With the midfielder seen as one of the favourites to win the Belgian Golden Shoe, the outlet state that ‘it is expected that if Hans Vanaken actually takes home the trophy, he will then move to the Premier League’ where West Ham, ‘who have been long interested, remain a serious candidate’.
