During the weekend, the Brazilian media got full of stories regarding Liverpool’s alleged interest in Real Madrid starlet Rodrygo.

It was a report in the Spanish media which said the Reds are interested in the winger, and the news got big coverage in his home country, with several outlets echoing it.

Now, as journalist Jorge Nicola went after the story, he points out how unlikely it is that this move would happen now, even though Liverpool were indeed in touch for the signing.

On YouTube, he claims to have spoken to a person from Rodrygo’s staff, and was told that the chances of a transfer are ‘none’, as there are no talks with the Anfield Road side.

However, this same source claimed there’s been ‘an approach, a search, an enquiry’ from the Reds, but they never mentioned numbers or anything like that.

Nicola claims that Real Madrid don’t have any offers for Rodrygo either, and the club are actually in talks to extend his deal.

Even though the player is committed to the club until 2025, they want him for longer and to give him a pay increase in the process.
