With Pablo Zabaleta running down his contract at West Ham and Ryan Fredericks still trying to convince the London Stadium faithful he can be of some use, David Moyes’ need for a right-back continues to grow.

They’ve already looked at Ola Aina, currently contracted to Torino in Italy, and their scouting has now taken them to France, where Bouna Sarr has become an option.

The Marseille winger turned right-back is attracting a lot of attention with his performances in the role, and Foot Mercato explain Sevilla, West Ham, an unidentified German club and Atlético Madrid are ‘not indifferent’ to what he has to offer.

The latter have even come forward to take some information about the 28-year-old, but there will be a lot of resistance from the Ligue 1 side’s end, regardless of their need to sell.

Foot Mercato explain Marseille know his value isn’t as high on the market as some of their other players like Florian Thauvin or Duje Caleta-Car, but André Villas-Boas’ love for the player (he hinted he could be the next captain) and his status within the dressing room are also big factors to take into consideration.

A lot could rest on Sarr himself, who really likes the club, and wouldn’t mind discovering the Champions League with them (they are currently second in the table).

However, we all know how alluring the prospect of a new adventure is, especially a well paid one like what West Ham could offer.

We’ll just have to wait and see.
