Despite having an offer for Yuri Alberto turned down by Corinthians this week, West Ham are still insisting on the signing.

That’s reported by Globo Esporte, who claim the Hammers made new contact for the transfer.

It’s said the call was made by Naldo Rodrigues, a former Brazilian defender. He got in touch with Corinthians on Tuesday evening.

The Timão, however, stood still and ‘didn’t even reopen the conversations’, according to Globo Esporte.

Corinthians believe Yuri Alberto is far too important for the club, and with the window closed, they can’t sign a replacement.

Globo Esporte add that West Ham’s personal offer to the player was actually very good. They wanted him to sign a five-year contract with a ‘high salary’, and the striker was attracted to that.

The problem is that the €18m bid isn’t enough to convince Corinthians. It’s been claimed this week that at least €25m would be needed to take him from the Brazilian club.

Now with West Ham apparently insisting, we shall see if they can at least get close to that.
