All that’s left for Inter Milan to do to sign Gianluca Scamacca is make the tiniest of financial efforts, if the Italian media are to be believed on Friday.

First comes a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, who make it clear the Hammers forward ‘is the favourite’ to lead the line next season if they can get a transfer sorted.

West Ham are said to have the player ‘budgeted for €30m’ and they refuse to ‘go down even one euro’ from that stance.

The demand put forward when Inter came knocking was €30m + bonuses, but the Italians ‘do not and cannot’ go beyond €25m up front.

Therefore, there is a ‘€5m dance’ between the two clubs, which is described as far from being an ‘insurmountable’ issue, even if the ‘negotiation is firm’.

Following talks between the two sides on Thursday, West Ham ‘showed no sign’ of budging, meaning Inter might need to look at alternatives, just in case.

Gianluca Di Marzio then provides his stance, and state that Inter have upped their offer to €24m + €4m in bonuses, while Scamacca has already ‘said yes’ to a transfer to the Serie A side.

The journalist now says we have to wait and see whether West Ham accept these terms or if the Italians will have to ‘increase a little bit more’, with €25m + €5m believed to be enough.
