West Ham United have been repeatedly linked with strikers since the start of this year, but they haven’t managed to sign a new No.9 in the two windows so far.

The Hammers have less than 48 hours to sign a new forward and one of the options to consider would be Gaëtan Laborde.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who provide a short update on the player’s situation at Montpellier. The 27-year-old scored three goals in the first four matches, including one in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Lille on Sunday.

Despite his involvement against Lille, the newspaper adds that ‘it is not excluded’ for him to change clubs before the window closes on Tuesday.

It’s claimed David Moyes’ side, along with Sevilla, Lyon and Rennes ‘could take action’ to sign Laborde. Interestingly, the Ligue 1 side are ready to sell and ‘expect’ a fee of €15m to let him leave.

Online, L’Equipe have provided comments from Montpellier manager Olivier Dall’Oglio, where he admitted there’s a possibility for Laborde to leave the French club.

“We spoke with Gaëtan, with the whole club. He is a boy who absolutely wanted to play (this Sunday), who is totally invested in the club until the end,” Dall’Oglio said.

“But the context means that he too can leave very quickly. I have no certainty. He can leave, he can stay. I don’t know. It’s the transfer window.”
