West Brom are still in the lead for the signing of Adrien Silva from Sporting. As reported by A Bola, the Baggies are the club with the biggest bid, even though the €26m offered is still a little below the €30m demanded by the Portuguese side.
But despite the financial agreement getting closer, A Bola’s story actually doesn’t bring good news for the Premier League side. That’s because, according to the newspaper, Adrien’s intention is not to sign for West Brom.
They claim the player is not keen on joining a ‘second line’ side, no matter if it’s a Premier League one or not.
After getting approaches from other clubs, the midfielder would only like to move to a squad which can fight for titles, or at least be better positioned on the table, such as Tottenham.
That’s why Sporting are not excited about negotiating with West Brom any longer. They know the player has other intentions, no matter how big a transfer fee West Brom are willing to pay.
