FutbolArena claim Besiktas have finally come to an agreement with Sunderland over the transfer of Jeremain Lens.

The Turkish website report Sunderland have accepted a €4m offer from Besiktas and will ‘shake hands’ on the deal, the transfer is expected to be completed subject to the player’s medical.

Yesterday, we covered claims from the Turkish press that Besiktas had agreed personal terms with the Sunderland player, but the club still needed to convince the Championship side over the transfer fee.

After an injury to Gokhan Tore, Besiktas joined the race for the Sunderland winger, and after his performances in Turkey last season he could be a coup for the Turkish champions.

Lens spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce, where he impressed. His performances earned him a recall to the Dutch national team, and with the World Cup next year the player will be keen to be playing top flight football.

Despite a good preseason, it’s unlikely Lens will be missed by many Sunderland supporters, due to comments made by the Dutchman last season.
