The Peruvian media now shows excitement about the possibility of having a Watford player in the national team.
That’s Andres Aguilar, a Hornets youngster who, on Instagram, revealed that he’ll soon be heading to South America.
As reported by Libero, the 17-year-old made public that he now has a Peruvian passport. That doesn’t only make him a citizen, but also allows him to play for the country.
The teenager was born in Stevenage, but due to his heritage, Peruvian football fans had already been asking him to secure nationality and potentially play for the national team.
As written by Libero, it’s Aguilar’s grandfather who was from Peru. Now this is considered the ‘first step’ for him to be called up in the future. The rest will obviously depend on how he does at Watford, and he should first focus on getting promotion to the first team to start a solid career there.
