With Arsenal still linked to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, the Gunners are now back to being named as one of the main contenders in the race for his signing.

That’s said by Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, who feature a new story on Lazio’s attempts to renew the midfielder’s contract.

Milinkovic’s deal expires in 2024, and even though his entourage believe there’s ‘no hope’ for a renewal, the Serie A club are refusing to accept that situation.

That’s why Lazio are making an offer in the coming weeks, putting on the table a salary of over €4m per year, along with a release clause.

The big problem is that Milinkovic-Savic has the aspiration to change clubs, and that’s where Arsenal come in.

Gazzetta claim that his contract situation means there’ll be ‘no shortage’ of interested clubs in the summer, as Lazio will be one year away from losing him for free.

Arsenal and Juventus were ‘recently’ interested in signing the 28-year-old and are named as contenders once again. And according to the story, the price demanded by the Italian club will be around €40m, much less than in previous years when figures around €100m were talked about.
