Watford are closing in on Fiorentina forward Mauro Zarate, according to claims in the Italian media. The Argentine looks surplus to requirements with the Viola, and could be set for a return to the Premier League.
Walter Mazzarri’s side are on a run of six games without a win and Zarate could give them a much needed boost in attack. It’s been revealed the next 48 hours will be decisive if Zarate signs for Watford, with both parties looking to complete the deal.
Zarate only joined Fiorentina from West Ham 12 months ago, but he’s managed just 5 goals in 22 Serie A appearances. The 29-year-old has yet to start a league game for the Italian club in this campaign, and Watford will be looking to take advantage of his situation.
