Loaned to Huesca for two seasons back in 2017, Cucho Hernandez is nearing the end of his term in Spain and preparing himself to return to Watford.
Originally signed from Deportivo Pereira in January 2017, the young forward has yet to play for the Hornets in a competitive game, and a decision will need to be made at the end of the season on whether they believe he has a future at the club down the line.
Contracted until 2020, this could be a good opportunity for Watford to sell the 19-year-old, although his four goals and three assists in 27 appearances this season do still leave a lot to be desired.
Sitting down for an interview with Colombian website GolCaracol, the forward revealed he wasn’t sure what would happen in the summer.
“After that, we’ll see what options there are. If there are some in Spain, great. What will be decided will be what’s best for me.”
Asked why he had a preference for the Spanish league, the youngster explained he has grown used to his surroundings, and is happy in the country, especially now that he knows how to play there.
First, however, he will need to continue and try to save Huesca from relegation as they sit rock bottom of La Liga, seven points from safety with nine games to go.
After that, a return to Watford and decision making time.
