Watford defender Christian Kabasele is set to sign a new extended contract at the club, with a formal announcement expected imminently.
Kabasele has been at Watford since 2016 after arriving in a £6.26m deal from Belgian side Genk.
He’s been a regular in the heart of Watford’s defence since then and has 16 appearances in all competitions for them this season.
Kabasele is currently under contract with the club until 2021 but according to Le 10 Sport is set to sign an extension to that deal.
According to their information, the player has already ‘reached an agreement’ with Watford over an extension, and the 28-year-old will ‘formalise’ the news soon.
There is no mention on how long the new deal will be, or whether it will see the 28-year-old earn himself a pay rise at Vicarage Road, just that an agreement is in place for him to extend his stay at the club.
He can now focus on his future at the club and helping Watford out of the relegation zone, with them currently sitting 19th in the table and two points from safety.
