Brighton and Hove Albion have been warned that they may face a fight to keep Roberto de Zerbi as he is now ‘attracting interest’ from ‘big English clubs’.

That’s the opinion of journalist Paolo Condò, who says the Italian is becoming one of the hottest managerial prospects in the game.

Brighton have started this season in fine form once again, with a series of impressive performances at the beginning of the season seeing them sit fifth with 12 points from a possible 15.

Their latest impressive win came against Manchester United last weekend, with a 3-1 victory secured at Old Trafford thanks to a display of exciting, attacking football.

There is no denying that Brighton are currently one of the best teams to watch in Europe, certainly in the Premier League, with many not only praising their style but the way in which De Zerbi is developing various players as well.

It’s been considerably more impressive this season given the loss of Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, two key components of the Italian’s midfield last season.

And Condò believes that won’t have gone unnoticed in the Premier League, where the bigger sides may now be circling.

“De Zerbi is arousing the interest of the big English clubs,” he said.

“His leadership could take Brighton far, even if their depth in the squad could represent a challenge.”
