Liverpool players continue to speak to their home countries’ media about the Premier League title.

It was now time for goalkeeper Alisson to be interviewed by Brazilian outlets and have a word about last night’s achievement.

“All the achievements are extremely important, but I believe that winning the Premier League is even more special because it was a title that the club and the fans had been looking for a long time”, said Alisson (via Estadão).

“We dedicated ourselves too much and, thank God, we managed to win one of the championships most difficult in the world”.

Since the Reds had to watch their league title on TV, Alisson claims he’s anxious to finally see the trophy and celebrate it with his teammates.

“Last year we had a spectacular campaign, but, unfortunately, there was another team that had an even better performance. This season, we kept our focus and everything worked out. We went down in history and I’m very happy. Now let’s start celebrating and assimilate this great achievement. I can’t wait to put my hand on the cup and take the lap of honour.”

The goalkeeper also regrets the fact of winning such an important title and not being able to celebrate with the fans.

“Unfortunately, we are going through an atypical moment because of the coronavirus pandemic and we will not be able to celebrate together with our fans. I hope that soon everything will get better and we will have the party together with them, because this trophy is for our fanbase, who always follow us wherever we go.”

Alisson arrived at Liverpool on a €62.5m deal from Roma in 2018, and has been lifting trophies since his first season at Anfield Road.

Besides winning the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Championship last year, he’s also been awarded by FIFA as being the world’s best goalkeeper last year.

Earlier today, we’ve covered Roberto Firmino’s quotes with the Brazilian press as well. He’s claimed that the Premier League title could ‘crown this generation’.
