Manchester United continue being pointed out as the favourites to win the race to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting in the summer.

As newspaper A Bola has today a story explaining how the player accepted to stay at the Lions last year, they add it will be very hard for the Lisbon side to keep him for longer.

Fernandes’ exit is described as ‘inevitable’, even though Sporting planned to offer him a new deal. A Bola says the midfielder is attracting the interest from many European sides, with Manchester United being ‘the biggest favourites’ among them.

The Red Devils have opened ‘preliminary talks’ for him, which could turn into ‘effective’ negotiations at any moment, since the club’s plan is to avoid competition in the summer.

Bruno Fernandes is currently protected by a €100m release clause, and it’s thought a deal could be done for around €80m.

The midfielder has 23 goals and 13 assists in 41 appearances this season, and the stats show how outstanding he’s been for the Lisbon side.
