Earlier in the window, Leeds United were named as a suitor for Nahitan Nández before Inter Milan took the lead in the chase for the Cagliari player.

The Nerazzurri haven’t managed to get the deal over the line and have now allowed other clubs to move into the picture, after investing on Denzel Dumfries.

According to Sky Italia, Tottenham Hotspur have ‘made a request for information’ for the 25-year-old.

The ‘real negotiation’ from Spurs to sign the Uruguay international hasn’t started, but they ‘requested the first information’ from the Serie A side, indicating their willingness to talk about the player.

The ‘first contacts [are] in progress’ and ‘discussions could be deepened’ in the coming days, after the initial contact between the two sides.

Nández was not involved in Cagliari’s 3-1 Coppa Italia win over Pisa at the weekend. He has ‘reiterated his desire’ to leave the club with sporting director Stefano Capozucca.

Tottenham are the latest club to be named as a contender for the South American and only time will tell if Spurs have a genuine interest or if they’ve been dragged into the picture to put pressure on other suitors.
