The Catalan media are loving Gareth Bale’s latest injury, because it gives them a chance to explain what a poor transfer it’s been for Real Madrid.

When Bale signed for Madrid from Tottenham, the Catalan media immediately got to work explaining how the Neymar deal was better.

In all honesty both deals have had their serious issues.

Madrid paid Tottenham around a record price and Neymar’s cost was initially talked down, subsequent court cases have caused huge issues for Barcelona, and whilst he may have left for PSG at a profit, the whole experience feels rather dirty.

In their Monday edition, Catalan newspaper Sport report that Bale is ‘running out of credit’ at Real Madrid, and the Premier League could be his destination.

Manchester United are routinely linked, and the same goes here, but Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be ‘willing to bid’ for the player.

Sport believe the player’s market value is now €80m, and that Tottenham would be willing to include players in a deal to convince Madrid.

Quite which players Mauricio Pochettino would think of isn’t elaborated on.
