Juventus’ talks with Tottenham for midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur have been ‘ignited’, and a deal is well on the way to being finalised.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say Juve ‘continue to work’ hard on a deal to sell the Argentine midfielder.

The website explains that the Serie A giants need to get rid of a player so they can make more signings of their own, and the ‘hot negotiation’ in that regard is Bentancur.

After conversations with Aston Villa that failed to lead to an agreement, the track leading to Tottenham has been ‘ignited’ instead.

CM.it report that there have been ‘important steps forward’ in the negotiations between Spurs and Juve, and they are now working on a deal.

While things are not advanced at this point, there is a possibility that Juventus will sanction a move, and there is the ‘possibility of a landing’ in the Premier League thanks to Fabio Paratici being at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

He ‘knows him very well’ from his time with Juve and so is keen to reunite with him and add him to Antonio Conte’s squad.

The possible sale would help unlock funds for Juventus to add a midfielder they want, although 35% of the price would go to Bentancur’s former club Boca Juniors.

The website has no information on a potential price, but it seems the deal being discussed between Tottenham and Juve is a permanent one at this moment in time.
