Last week we covered claims from Italy that Tottenham had held a meeting with Sampdoria to find an ‘agreement in principle’ for the summer transfer of Joachim Andersen.
The agreement was on the price, and it was reported Samp had made it clear they want a deal at €25m, which didn’t seem to be a figure to put off the Premier League club.
Then followed claims of Spurs scouting the player and being impressed, and there are now endless reports in Italy about the potential transfer.
On Thursday, Calciomercato again cover the meeting of last week. They state Sampdoria’s vice president flew to London and met with Tottenham, who are ‘ready to invest’ €25m on the player.
That’s a slightly different take on the previous claims about the London meeting.
Inter Milan are also said to be interested but Tottenham already have an ‘offer on the table’ (presumably that €25m) so the Serie A club would need to hurry.
Quizzed by the Dutch media a few days ago on interest from Tottenham and Manchester United, the former FC Twente player said: “Everyone is asking me at the moment where I am going. Of course I also get it that big clubs would be interested in me and that is very nice to hear, but at the moment it is not the time to talk about a new club, I am proud to play for Sampdoria and I want to do everything we can to put ourselves in the Europa League.”
