Ajax and Feyenoord have ‘set their sights’ on Crystal Palace youngster Hindolo Mustafa, but any real transfer effort is dubious.
That’s according to the #DoneDeal podcast on Voetbal Primeur, who cover the interest in the youngster today and explain why they doubt either side will make a serious move for the 18-year-old.
Mustafa could be the next youngster to make their way through Crystal Palace’s youth ranks, with the youngster earning big admires for his performances this season.
He has seven goals and four assists in 20 games in Premier League 2 and another three goals, and one assists in two games in the play-offs to his name this season as well as a goal and assist in two games in the EFL Trophy.
He’s become something of a specialist at scoring ‘worldies’, his super strikes gaining him plenty of attention and adding to excitement about his future.
Recent reports have indicated that Ajax and Feyenoord could both be interested in moves for the midfielder and a potential move this summer.
#DoneDeal can see why they’d be interested, but believe that is Ajax, a club famed for their development of youth talent down the years, which would make more sense.
“Ajax and Feyenoord have set their sights on Hindolo Mustafa. 18-year-old attacking midfielder from Crystal Palace,” they said.
“I’ve seen a bit of him already. He only scores world goals I think If you look that up, then you really think he’s a great footballer. Number 10, he reminded me a bit of Yaya Touré. He’s a bit more of a ten than Touré was, I think but physically certainly in the youth competitions enormously superior and technically also skilled.
“Where is the need for an attacking midfielder the greatest? Ajax. It seems obvious to me. We talked about Feyenoord last week, they can field a whole team, even with midfielders.
“So yes, it’s not really concrete yet. It’s not really on the agenda yet. It could be possible; he’s definitely on the list. Feyenoord and Ajax will indeed have informed. I have no doubt about that. But at Feyenoord I also thought it was a bit illogical with all those midfielders.”
