There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Tottenham Hotspur watched Fenerbahce’s in-form midfielder Ozan Tufan in action against Antalyaspor on Friday.
The 24 year old has made an excellent start to the season after returning to the Super Lig club this summer and his performances have reportedly caught the eye of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, report Turkish website Haber7.
Haber 7 say Spurs will continue to monitor him until January as it’s reported the Premier League side could make an approach for the player.
Tufan joined Fenerbahce from Bursaspor for €7m in 2016 but failed to make an impact until this season. A loan spell during the last campaign worked wonders for the Turkish international and he is finally showing signs of fulfilling his potential.
He’s played in central midfield, at right back and right wing for Fener this season and his versatility has made him key for manager Ersun Yanal.
He will be out of the contract at the end of the season and the Turkish club’s board are in a hurry to tie him down on a new long term deal.
Tufan’s contract situation means he’ll be free to speak with overseas clubs in the new year, with regards to a pre-contract agreement.
He’s played all seven games for Fenerbahce this season.
