Youri Tielemans has been one of the best players of the season for Aston Villa.

The midfielder has played 33 games in the Premier League, racking up seven assists and scoring two goals. He also has two goals in the UEFA Champions League.

As the Belgian continues to perform impressively at the highest level, pundit Filip Joos has brought about a question of whether he could play for Real Madrid after Aston Villa.

In a chat with Sporza, as relayed by VoetbalNieuws, Joos stated that Tielemans could replace Toni Kroos perfectly at Los Blancos.

He said: “How old is he now? 28 years old? That is the choice now. Stay or really go to the absolute world top?”

Speaking of whether the midfielder can make an impact at a club like Real Madrid, Joos said: “The only thing you can wonder is how he handles the pressure, but purely as a footballer he is the best who could replace Kroos.”

It is fair to say that Tielemans could play for Real Madrid, considering how well he has done at Aston Villa, but it is presumptive to suggest that he would want to depart a team that reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League and can play in the competition again next season.

Unai Emery’s side are only two points away from fourth position in the Premier League.

Given Tielemans arrived at the Birmingham club on a free transfer in 2023, Aston Villa can earn a major profit from his sale, but all of it will come down to the player’s wishes.
