Back at the start of the week, Portuguese newspapers said Tottenham Hotspur were about to make new attempts for the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting. And that seems to be exactly what is happening right now.

According to journalist Bruno Andrade, even though the clubs remain without a deal, Spurs are making more moves for the transfer.

It’s said a new effort from Tottenham was already turned down by Sporting, but a new meeting is scheduled for Wednesday.

The Lions, as previously reported, are only selling Porro in case his €45m release clause is triggered, and do not intend to negotiate a discount.

Tottenham’s pursuit for the full-back has been going on for months now, with the Portuguese media always claiming that the player is a wish from manager Antonio Conte, who looks for a reinforcement at the position.

The problem is that Sporting know Porro is the most valuable asset in their squad, with other clubs also interested, so it makes no sense to negotiate in January if they can hold him and sell for more in the summer.
