Japhet Tanganga has ‘decided to leave Tottenham’ this summer and is a ‘leading candidate’ for AC Milan.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say AC Milan chiefs Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have already talked about the defender with Fabio Paratici in a meeting last week in Milan.
The Italian side are eyeing him as a replacement for Alessio Romagnoli but a transfer is not a priority at this moment in time.
Milan are currently focusing on a deal for Charles de Ketelaere and once that deal is done they will have a clearer picture of the finances available for other deals.
That will be an expensive deal for Milan, so the idea of Tanganga arriving from Tottenham on loan with a right to buy would increase.
Tanganga, for his part, ‘waits with confidence’ for the two clubs to strike an agreement but wants the move to Milan ‘at all costs’.
He has already turned down several offers from the Premier League because the Serie A champions are the only move he is currently interested in.
That will first require Tottenham to strike a deal with Milan, and the latter aren’t going to make any moves until they’ve tied up their deal for De Ketelaere.
