Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson is seen as bad news by the Spanish media today.
That’s a take from outlet Fichajes, who claim that with Spurs now chasing the player, it’s got significantly harder for Sevilla to sign him.
It’s claimed that Tottenham are willing to ‘shell out a considerable sum’ of €30m on the signing, as they’d use that to trigger his release clause.
Sevilla already failed to sign Nelsson last year, and would now have an even tougher challenge if competing against Spurs.
Fichajes writes that Tottenham are ‘desperately’ looking for a new centre-back, as Ange Postecoglu has already given the green light for the club to improve that sector.
It’s highlighted that Spurs are fighting to be towards the top of table and will try to address their needs in the middle of the season, so they can have a stronger finish in the league.
Sevilla seem to be out of the race should Tottenham really come forward with that amount, so they shouldn’t have to worry about that competition.
