French newspaper L’Equipe believe Moussa Sissoko is edging closer to a Tottenham Hotspur exit, less than a year after he joined the club from Newcastle United. Sissoko had long wanted to move from Newcastle to a bigger club doing well, and had been minded to accept a move to Everton.

Tottenham’s late offer, which L’Equipe put at €35m, was not only easily enough for Newcastle, but the player himself is said to have been happy with the chance of an even bigger stage than he’d expected at Goodison Park.

Since then things clearly haven’t gone to plan and given that he’s not hit it off with Mauricio Pochettino, L’Equipe believe an exit is on the cards. Now his market value is said Screen Shot 2017-03-23 at 07.11.58to have nearly halved, and a transfer fee is estimated at around €20m.

Tottenham will have talks with the player’s entourage within the next two weeks, with everyone involved looking to clear the air and find a way forward.

Sissoko is also minded to move to guarantee more playing time so he can win his place back in Didier Deschamps’ France squad.
