Tottenham’s interest in Mehdi Taremi is highlighted by several Portuguese newspapers today.

One of them is Correio da Manhã, who claim the player could say farewell to the Dragons after this week’s match against Benfica, something which has also been reported elsewhere.

It’s pointed out that Tottenham’s ‘harassment’ for the 31-year-old continues, and they’ll increase their offer should Harry Kane be sold.

It’s claimed that Spurs’ first €24m bid was turned down by Porto president Pinto da Costa. Now they wait for Bayern Munich to subject an acceptable offer for Kane, so they can make a final blow for Taremi and match the €30m requested by the Portuguese side.

According to Correio da Manhã, this scenario has been ‘gaining strength’ and has even created ‘some tension’ prior to the Benfica match, as manager Sérgio Conceição – who can certainly be fiery – isn’t happy about losing his top scorer.

Even though Taremi has also been linked to the likes of AC Milan and Inter Milan in the past few days, the newspaper only mentions Tottenham as a potential destination for him.
