Tottenham have the financial advantage over Marseille in the ‘battle’ for Juventus youngster Samuel Iling-Junior, should the two make a move for him in January.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the player is a prime candidate to leave Juventus in the coming weeks, particularly as they look to top up their funds to reinforce their midfield.

They explain that Juventus are ready to sit down to negotiate a potential transfer for the player, who they currently valued at €20-25m.

As has been reported already, Tottenham are planning to ‘make an attempt’ for the player as they continue to reshape Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

They could face competition from Marseille, though, as they have also looked at Iling-Junior as a potential idea for the January transfer window. That idea could become a concrete hypothesis in the coming weeks.

The main obstacle is that price tag, which the French side consider ‘excessive’ at this moment in time and therefore something they wouldn’t want to match.

That would give Tottenham the advantage, with them seemingly more capable of reaching  that figure far more easily than their counterparts in Ligue 1.

For now, Marseille are hesitant and that gives Tottenham their opportunity to get in early, with their financial power a clear advantage at this stage.
