It looks like the rumours linking Porto striker Zé Luís to a Tottenham Hotspur move won’t last very long.

It was on Tuesday night that reports emerged saying José Mourinho would like to sign the player to replace Harry Kane during the English star’s recovery.

It’s been claimed Zé Luís could join Tottenham on a loan deal, and would still need a work permit, since he doesn’t have an European passport.

Now TVI24 comes up with some updates today, and they don’t believe there’s a big chance that Spurs could land the striker in January.

TVI24 claims that it wouldn’t make sense for Porto to loan out a player who’s 28, especially because he’s been important for the squad this season.

Another issue that would block a transfer to Tottenham is the work permit. It’s said Zé Luis has never tried to get Portuguese citizenship, and his number of caps for Cape Green aren’t enough to convince the FA.

Tottenham were the first to make an approach for him, but given these conditions, it’s more likely the player leaves Porto if sold to a club from elsewhere.
