Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has admitted they took advantage of Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele’s situations  at Tottenham to get him late in the window.

The Galatasaray director has been speaking in Turkey, relayed by Asist Analiz, regarding the transfer after the pair made the move to Turkey last week.

Both players were allowed to join Galatasaray at the end of the window, with Sanchez joining in a €9.5m agreement earlier this week and Ndombele joining on a loan deal until the end of the season on the same day.

The Frenchman’s departure did not come as much of a surprise after he’s spent the last few seasons out on loan away from Tottenham, spending last year with Italian champions Napoli.

Sanchez did come as something of a shock, though, having featured under Ange Postecoglou at the beginning of his reign.

It appeared he would be one of the Tottenham outcasts that the Australian would re-integrate and perhaps redevelop but that has not been the case and he is now part of the former Spurs contingent calling Galatasaray home.

That’s something Timur is more than happy about and admits the club took advantage to get deals that suited them perfectly.

“There were much more important opportunities for Ndombele four days ago, but when the transfer window closed, we took advantage,” he said.

“We thought we would not get Davinson either. We agreed on €9.5m + bonuses on the last day.”
