Towards the end of October, a story in La Razon claimed that Rafa Mir, currently on loan at Las Palmas, could be the subject of a Wolverhampton Wanderers sale, as the Premier League club don’t count on his services any longer.

The young forward has been of interest to Sevilla recently, and the newspaper claimed a fee of around €7m (Wolves bought him for €2.5m) would be enough to convince Nuno Espirito Santo’s club.

However, speaking to Television Canaria, relayed by Estadio Deportivo, Rafa Mir admitted he isn’t thinking about a transfer at the moment, more focused on the present than he is about 2019 and onwards.

Explaining he was only bothered one what happened between now and Christmas, he said: “I’m taking it step by step, trying to be calm, to reach the team goals and then individual ones. After that, time will tell.”

Rafa Mir’s deal with Las Palmas doesn’t give the Canary Islands based club any advantage since there is no purchase clause included.

Sent out to the La Liga II club to get some first-team football under his belt, the 21-year-old has started nine from a possible 13 games, scoring four goals along the way.
