It’s fair to say that Weston McKennie’s last year as been one filled with ups and downs, split between Juventus and Leeds United.

The USA international wanted to leave the Turin side, and eventually went to Elland Road on loan, failing to impress, before returning to the Serie A side, where he was pushed to one side.

However, the midfielder has managed to turn everything around for himself since his Leeds struggles, which Corriere dello Sport on Monday cover.

They recall what happened over the course of the summer, as he returned from his spell with the Whites, which they explain wasn’t a ‘memorable experience’ for him.

After all, Leeds were relegated despite him starting almost every game after his arrival, regardless of whether Jesse Marsch was in charge or not.

Still, when he returned, there was a feeling he would be sold, and he was even sent to train with those who were unwanted.

However, after a few days, McKennie was ‘reinstated’ into the first-team group by Max Allegri and sent on the US tour.

After that, no real offers came for him, probably since clubs were unimpressed with what took place at Leeds, but that didn’t bother him, as he is now a big part of his manager’s plans.

In fact, the upcoming game against Lazio would be his 100th appearance for Juventus, and ‘there is more and more McKennie’ at Juventus these days.
