There should be a summer race for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, according to claims from the Italian media.

TuttoMercatoWeb writes that a couple of Serie A sides are keen on landing the 23-year-old in the next transfer window.

Nelson’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season, and the Gunners are said to be keen on renewing his deal.

However, the report claims that besides contact from French side Rennes, the likes of Atalanta and Roma also want the winger.

Those sides are said to be in touch with his entourage to land him as a free agent, even though there’s no guarantee yet whether he’ll walk away from the Gunners.

Nelson is a product of Arsenal’s academy, but is still to get regular playing time at the club.

Following his return from a loan at Feyenoord last summer, he played for Arsenal 12 times, and actually had impressive numbers, with three goals and three assists.

Even though there may not be a place for him in the starting team right now, it makes sense that Mikel Arteta would like to keep having him as an option.
