Two days ago, journalist Sacha Tavolieri stated Chelsea are anticipating Liverpool to make a last-minute effort to sign Roméo Lavia after the Blues sent an offer to Southampton.

The west London club have reportedly been successful in overcoming competition from the Reds to sign Brighton & Hove Albion star Moisés Caicedo and want to repeat the same for Lavia.

Latest claims from England have talked about Liverpool making an offer to Southampton for the 19-year-old and this is now backed up by Tavolieri.

He took to Twitter to state that Liverpool have finally managed to find an agreement with the Saints for the 19-year-old.

Jürgen Klopp’s side have been chasing the Belgium international for most part of the window. They have seen few of their bids get rejected before agreeing a deal with the Championship club.

The journalist adds ‘things could develop quickly’ while also warning the Merseyside club that ‘it’s not over yet’ for them in their pursuit of the midfielder. He doesn’t mention the reason for that, though.

Late on Sunday, Tavolieri reported Lavia was ‘off to Chelsea’ and has been in London since the weekend to complete a move to Stamford Bridge. This could be why he has issued a warning to Liverpool.
