Sent out on loan to Milan without an option to buy, Diogo Dalot is set to return to Manchester United at the end of the season.

Reports in Italy suggest the club are still unsure on whether they want to try and start talks with the Red Devils regarding a full transfer, as they know any negotiations would have to be from scratch.

His versatility has been of great help to Stefano Pioli, as showcased once more in their recent loss to Sassuolo, but even if Milan decide against buying the Manchester United player, another club in Serie A could make that move.

According to Record, that team is Napoli, who reported on Thursday that Gennaro Gattuso’s side ‘very carefully follow’ the Portugal international.

They also add that while Milan ‘have interest in keeping’ the Portuguese player, ‘the final decision has not yet been made’.

Under contract at Old Trafford until 2023, the Manchester United player might want to see what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has planned for him before deciding to leave the Premier League club for good.

Unless he’s already been told he won’t be used, in which case, both of these options could end up being very enticing.
