It’s been several weeks since Roman Abramovich announced his decision to sell Chelsea.
Even before the Russian made his decision public, Switzerland billionaire Hansjörg Wyss revealed he was offered an opportunity to buy the west London club at the start of last month.
Wyss had then also made it clear that he alone will not be looking to take over Chelsea from Abramovich.
The 86-year-old had given an interview to Blick journalist Nicola Imfeld and the latter now brings us the fresh development on the efforts made by Wyss and Todd Boehly to purchase the Premier League side.
Imfeld took to Twitter to report the Swiss-American takeover of Chelsea led by Wyss and Boehly is now nearly over.
⚽️ #Chelsea: It‘s been almost two months since @Blickch revealed the purchase intentions of Hansjörg Wyss and Todd Boehly. The sale process is now nearing its end and a Swiss-American takeover of @ChelseaFC seems imminent. Hearing that Wyss/Boehly are very confident. pic.twitter.com/h2zxY0fW9u

According to the journalist, the sale process is ‘nearing its end’ as Wyss & Boehly are ‘very confident’ to buy the FIFA Club World Cup winners. He further went on to explain the takeover of the English club ‘seems imminent’.
If what Imfeld claims is true, then there should be more reports on this topic, especially in the English press in the next few hours and days..
