Forward Wilfried Zaha, who spent many years at Crystal Palace, has some rather honest comments to make on Wednesday about his time with the Premier League club.

As the winger today spoke to the Turkish media, he’s now quoted by Asist Analiz talking about his role with the Eagles.

Zaha claims he never really liked leaving the left wing, but Crystal Palace’s coaches used to force him to play in other positions.

“The position I feel best in is the left wing. I played in other positions at Crystal Palace but the coaching staff knew I didn’t like playing there, I played out of necessity,” said Zaha.

Zaha left Crystal Palace for Galatasaray last summer on a free move, having signed a three-year contract with the Turkish side. Since arriving there, he has ten goals and five assists in 37 appearances.

Even though he still wasn’t able to show his best at his new club, he claims he’s still getting adapted to the new league, and hopes he’ll soon be able to show what he’s capable of, as he’s done it before in the Premier League.

“I have only played in England, but I played there for more than 13 years. I came here and I was injured for four months. I recovered from my injury and returned to the pitch.

“There are videos of me on YouTube, playing differently in England and differently in Turkey. This is a process, it takes time.”

The winger had been a product of Crystal Palace’s academy, going to Manchester United in 2013 and returning to Selhurst Park in 2014.

In his full story with the Eagles, he had 90 goals and 76 assists in 458 matches.
