Alberto Moreno for a long time was a figure of mockery at Liverpool, the man picked out time and again for criticism after poor displays. Others have now replaced Moreno as those seen as to blame for a continuing shaky defence, and the Spaniard is growing under the kinder spotlight.

The move from Spain was always going to be difficult for the Seville boy and the harsh stance of some former Liverpool players seemed to, even enthusiastically, make matters worse.

Now Moreno has turned things around to the point that he’s back in the Spain squad. Mundo Deportivo cover Moreno’s situation in their ‘mercato’ section. That’s obviously a part of the newspaper which looks at transfer business, and the reasoning for Moreno’s inclusion is that he’s a ‘great signing’ for Liverpool.

Such is the turnaround, Mundo push Moreno as being something of a new player, and he’s come at ‘zero cost’ for Jurgen Klopp.

But, given he’ll have annoyed the self interested pundits by having the temerity to show his class, Moreno can only ever be a poor performance away from further ridicule.
