Liverpool are ‘very close’ to signing the Stoke City star Xherdan Shaqiri, according to reports from Spain this Wednesday afternoon.
Outlet Sport claims that the Reds are currently in touch with the Potters’ board, who already admit they will be losing the player after the club’s relegation to the Championship last season.
The report claims that Shaqiri has a £13m release clause, which would be a very affordable price for a club of Liverpool’s size.
Still, Stoke City would be happy to take a player from the Anfield side in exchange. Sport claims the club would like to have Harry Wilson on a loan spell.
But thing is that 12 clubs have made a request to sign the winger, so Stoke should have to work hard to convince Jurgen Klopp to loan them the player.
Sport recalls that 21-year-old winger Sheyi Ojo is another one who should leave the Reds on a loan deal this summer.
Shaqiri has a Swiss agent, so it’s curious that this is popping up in Spain, unless a Spanish club was also interested.
