Christian Eriksen has 18 months left on his contract at Tottenham Hotspur and so far, he’s not signed a new deal with the north London club.
On Thursday, reports in England claimed the Denmark international turned down an offer from the Premier League side to extend his contract.
His manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted the attacking midfielder’s future is out of Spurs’ hands.
Friday’s edition of Spanish newspaper AS claims that after the former Ajax man rejected the latest offer, the English outfit are beginning to show ‘nervousness’, especially because they negotiated for months to extend his stay beyond 2020.
Deli Alli is currently earning €8m-a-year and it’s claimed he’s the highest paid player at Tottenham and they wanted to pay similar wages to the 26-year-old.
The Champions League winners ‘don’t lose an eye’ as they continue to monitor him, while Barcelona were interested in him in the summer. 
Los Blancos view Eriksen as a replacement for Luka Modric, if the Croatian decides to leave Real Madrid in the summer.
